Join Public Scholar and doctoral candidate Muhammad Ilyas from the Department of Health, Kinesiology and Applied Physiology (HKAP) for an engaging and interactive spotlight event that challenges how we talk about obesity.

This discussion brings together leading researchers, clinicians, and advocates to shift the conversation from stigma to science. Too often, individuals living with obesity face stigma rooted in the misconception that obesity is simply a matter of personal choice. In reality, obesity is a complex, chronic disease influenced by biological, environmental, and social determinants.

Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion as we explore the future of obesity care — from prevention to innovative treatment strategies. This event aims to foster empathy, break down blame, and share research-driven insights with the broader community. A Q&A session will follow the panel discussion.

How can you participate? Join us in person or online by registering for the Zoom Meeting watching live on YouTube.
