World renown media artist Tamiko Thiel (@tamikothiel) gives a public artist talk on making augmented reality art projects that explore the interplay of place, space, the body and cultural identity in political and socially critical media artworks. Thiel began designing AR installations in 2010, many of which have been urban interventions. She is a founding member of Manifest.AR, and a number of her AR projects are held in permanent collections with cultural institutions such as the MoMA, NY, and the Whitney Museum. She is the recipient of numerous awards for her media artworks (spanning 35 years), including the 2018 Visionary Pioneer Award from the Society for Art and Technology, Montreal.

This talk will be followed by a moderated Q&A hosted by PULSE (@performative_urbanism). For more details, click here
