PhD Candidate and public scholar Felicity T. C. Hamer presents and elaborates her concept of hauntography - misplaced or intentionally avoided photographs that remain connected to memories of absent individuals and events. Hamer will be in discussion with Dr. Rebecca Duclos and her students (ARTH388, Alternative Accounts of the Aesthetic Experience) about this and other issues of memory and aesthetic response through photography. The main event will include viewing of video contributions and artist presentations from students of ARTH388 (instructed by Dr. Duclos) and COMS367 (Media and Culture Context - Memory, Mourning, and Witnessing, instructed by Hamer).
Student projects will be on display all day (10-6), and the event's live stream will happen from 3 - 5 pm.
