Storytelling Workshop

What makes a good story? How can you use storytelling to have an impact on your communications? Storytelling is a skill you can practice and bring to networking events, job interviews, or time spent sharing personal stories among friends.  

In this workshop you will learn what makes a good story, how to tell more compelling stories, and get tips that can help move ideas and anecdotes into stories that influence and inspire. You will have the opportunity to practice in a supportive, safe, and fun atmosphere and receive immediate feedback. Family events, public speaking opportunities, job interviews, presentations – all are opportunities to use stories to convey ideas.

Johanne Pelletier

Johanne Pelletier (MA, ICD.D) works in communications at Concordia University in Montreal. She is considered a master storyteller, with work featured in showcases in both Canada and the United States. She is the winner of the National Storytelling Network Story Slam (a US national competition) and the GRIT Storytelling 99-Second Story Slam.

A graduate of McGill University and the University of Toronto,  a certified coach, working with startups and entrepreneurs to craft the best possible pitch. 

When not thinking about the next story, she is a certified boxing official in Canada and the US.

Organized by École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University (FOFA). 

ÉTS and Concordia University are joining forces to combine artistic and engineering approaches to raise the environmental awareness of future engineers and artists and encourage them to take action in their professional practice. The objective of this program is to link up students of ÉTS and the Faculty of Fine Arts at Concordia University to help them propose and produce works to raise awareness and spur action to reduce the environmental footprint of human activities.
