In this two-part miniseries, you will discover skills for effectively managing difficult emotions and interpersonal situations. The skills in these workshops will draw from an approach called Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which helps people to better manage their emotions and improve and maintain relationships. We will explore tools like mindfulness, assertiveness, and effective communication to help you get your needs met and develop healthy relationships with others. While these workshops can be attended alone, you will gain the most benefit by attending both.

In this session, we will explore the GIVE FAST skills, which are intended to help you maintain relationships while also maintaining your own self-respect during interactions.

Takeaways:

  • Skills to effectively manage emotions in the context of interpersonal interactions through techniques like mindfulness and assertiveness
  • Tools to get your needs met while maintaining healthy personal and professional relationships
