Join us for a workshop on creating a Safety Plan for individuals affected by domestic violence. In this supportive and informative session, you'll learn how to help someone in a situation of violence prepare for a safe escape. Our facilitators will guide you through the process of developing a personalized safety plan, offering practical tools and resources to navigate challenging situations. This includes topics such as planning escape routes, engaging a support system, and packing escape bags.

About the facilitators

Susan Brasier worked in the United States as a domestic violence prosecutor for several decades where she was well-known for her groundbreaking work on behalf of victims of domestic violence. She was featured in the national documentary “City of Shelter.” Susan has since changed careers and is currently Associate Minister at the Church of Andrew & St. Paul in Montreal.

Aleesha Simpson (MSW, PSW) is one of the SARC’s counsellors. Aleesha provides support, counseling, accompaniment and referral to Concordia students, staff and faculty impacted by sexual violence at any point in their lives. She holds a Masters’ degree in Social Work from McGill University and has over three years of experience working in the field.
