Camellia Jahanshahi (she/her) is a non-profit community worker with a BA and MA in Religions and Cultures from Concordia University, a professional leadership diploma from Cornell University in Diversity and Inclusion, and around 10 years of experience working with nonprofits on their anti-oppression mandates and policies. She comes at this work primarily through creating opportunities for solidarity and joy by organizing space for other queer and/or racialized people, but also through offering comprehensive workshops and educational opportunities for all who are interested.

In addition to her work in the community sector, she also runs two small businesses (Sumac and Sugar, and Holy Matter/s) and works as a performance artist in the cabaret scene. Balancing several roles is both a challenge and a joy, driven by her anti-o and solidarity based values, she cares a lot about how she structures her environments in order to thrive while also lifting those around her up. Join her in this session around the importance of intentionally connecting with our values in order to set proper boundaries in the community sector. Enforcing our boundaries is an act of honouring the multitudes we all contain and allows us to better create the world we all dream of.

"Boundaries are not about yes or no, they are not about limitations or permission or even this thing we call consent. They are the space between me and you, the borderland where fear ends and desire begins. They are the place where love can live without being lost." -Kai Cheng Thom
