Francophi-Lis: The reading contest for intermediate to advanced French learners!

This event is created in collaboration with UQAM and Université de Montréal. 

As part of Francofête 2025, Francophi-LIS invites intermediate to advanced French learners to celebrate the power of words through an expressive reading contest. Whether you love literature, poetry, or powerful speeches, this is your chance to step onto the stage and bring a text to life!

Participants will have the opportunity to compete for exciting prizes

• 1st place winner: $ 200
• 2nd place winner: an e-reader
• 3rd place winner: a selection of Quebecois books (in French).

How does it work?

15 participants will be selected to perform an expressive reading of a French text of their choice. It can be:

• An excerpt from a novel or short story that inspires you
• A powerful speech or socially engaged text
• A poem that moves you
• A personal text (yes, your own writing is welcome!)

How to participate

Send us your chosen text along with a brief explanation of why you selected it, before March 10, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Make your voice heard, bring words to life, and let the French language shine through you!
