From May 3 to 5, you are warmly welcome to come join engAGE for its grand opening as we officially open our newly acquired and newly renovated space! Over the course of the week, you will be invited to participate in daily events and activities from research events to student presentations of research to a reception to celebrate the incredible engAGE community.

The opening is an opportunity to learn more about the work of the centre, its projects and to reflect upon and celebrate the Centre's remarkable journey since its inception in 2017. The program includes an opening reception, a research presentation and roundtable, a visual archive of the centre's research projects and the unique opportunity to explore the ACT Lab's Escape Room (a project that brings attention to abuse of older adults).

About engAGE

Since its inception in 2017, engAGE has been changing how we normally think about aging. engAGE understands aging to be a lifelong journey that includes the physical, personal, civic, social and spiritual dimensions of wellbeing and addresses growing older as the realization of personal and social potentials in context. We are thrilled to be able to bring together members of our community, from researchers, to older adults, to community organizers, to students, to celebrate, reflect, and share our gratitude to all who have contributed to engAGE’s many successes and community-building efforts.

Accessibility information

The layout of engAGE space is wheelchair accessible. ASL will be provided at the May 3 event and microphones will be used at all events and activities. Gender-neutral washrooms are available on the same floor. Masks will be available onsite. Mask-wearing is encouraged at this event.
