Do you have data you'd like to analyze? Would you like to gain insights from your data without having to rely on complex programming languages? Are you tired of manually filtering and cleaning your data? If the answer to any of these questions is "Yes!", then this workshop is for you. Join us in learning more about the user-friendly and classic data software that is Excel. Usually, the starting point of any data analysis, Excel is a widely known data analysis tool used in many different fields, ranging from finance to biology analytics.

In this all-in-one course, you’ll first learn all the basics of data formatting, cleaning and management in Excel. We’ll then move on to basic functions and the construction of graphs and charts within the software. Once the foundations are settled, more advanced functions, such as VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, will be explored along with everything related to pivot tables! At last, you’ll be equipped with the tools to make eye-catching dashboards and will learn to generate basic statistical analysis to communicate your findings.

This workshop has a collaborative and interactive structure, leveraging Udemy, Moodle, and live weekly Q&A sessions.

How does it work?

  • Every week, students will complete asynchronous activities posted on Moodle.
  • The asynchronous activities include Udemy learning paths and biweekly mini-exercises.
  • Students will be able to solidify their knowledge during the weekly one-hour live session with the instructor (Wednesdays, 12: 00 -1:00 PM).

Participants who complete all exercises and attend all the weekly sessions will be eligible for a certificate of completion!

You don’t have any previous with Excel? No worries, there is no need for that! In this course we will be covering all the basics, even presenting how to install and access for the first time Excel. If you want the ability to get more out of your data, join us to get started using Excel.
