Dudu Tassa, one of Israel’s leading singer-songwriters and pop-performers digs deep into his Jewish-Iraqi roots. Tassa’s grandfather and his brother, known as the Al-Kuwaiti brothers, were recognized as two of the greatest composer-musicians in Baghdad during the first half of the 20th century. These innovators and creators of modern Iraqi music are still highly regarded in the Arab world today. Dudu Tassa salutes the music of his grandfather in a style which he call’s “Iraq’n’roll.” Blending traditional Arabic and middle-eastern sounds with Israeli rock and singing in Hebrew and Arabic, Dudu Tassa delivers a mesmerizing performance with his trademark powerful voice and skilled guitar work.
