Kafka's Last Trial: A lecture by Benjamin Balint
The Azrieli Institute hosted Benjamin Balint, a fellow at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, for a guest lecture on May 21, in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Montreal and the Montreal Jewish Public Library. Balint’s talk was based on his recent book Kafka’s Last Trial: The Case of a Literary Legacy. On the day of the talk, the government of Germany handed over a large number of documents from the long disputed Kafka collection to the State of Israel. Balint’s forthcoming book, co-authored with Merav Mack and Frederic Brenner, Jerusalem: City of the Book, deals with the history of libraries in Jersualem.
