Professor Anthony Noce, Department of Economics, recently commented on CTV News on whether the Liberal Party’s platform on housing and immigration represented sound economics. Among other concerns, Professor Noce notes that the Liberal policies approach problem-solving in a wholly inefficient manner, especially when it concerns environmental issues. The number of immigrants proposed by the Liberals is not based on proper economic and statistical modeling and if those numbers are realized, they will create pressure on available housing, making housing affordability a bigger problem.
