Professor Sandra Martin-Chang’s research profiled in Edutopia

Sandra Martin-Chang, Professor in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, was interviewed about the research she conducted with colleagues, What’s your pleasure? Exploring the predictors of leisure reading for fiction and nonfiction,  in the online publication Edutopia. Sandra outlined the link that was found between reading for pleasure outside of class and stronger language skills. She also suggested a number of approaches that can encourage middle and high school students to continue to engage in reading for fun.
