Two of our PhD students, Lisa Moore and Naomi Frost, have just had articles about Montreal published in the September 2024 of Urban History Review / Revue d'histoire urbaine.

Lisa's essay, entitled "Gendering Juvenile Delinquency: Girls and Young Women before the Cour de bien-être social of Montreal, 1950–1961," is drawn from her dissertation research on girls and young women in the city's juvenile justice system in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.

Naomi is co-author with Anna Sheftel of "'The People Who Stayed': Back River Memorial Gardens Cemetery as a Site of Jewish Migrant and Montreal Urban Meaning-Making," which presents some of their research into one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Canada.

You can read both articles on the Urban History Review / Revue d'histoire website.

Congratulations to Naomi, Lisa and Anna!
