May 22: PBS series “The Story of the Jews” with Simon Schama
The Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies and the Department of Religion at Concordia University are pleased to partner with Vermont Public Television for a Public Screening of a segment of the PBS series “The Story of the Jews” with Simon Schama.
It will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
The location will be H-763 of the Hall Building, 1455 de Maisonneuve Boulevard, West in Montreal.
Noted historian, author and critic Simon Schama explores the Jewish experience from ancient times to the present day in this new five-part PBS series. After the screening there will be a panel discussion led by Professor Ira Robinson. The panel will include Dr. Steven Lapidus, Dr. Chantal Ringuet, and Dr. Stephanie Schwartz, Research Associates of the Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies at Concordia.
