Richard Schmid, longtime CSLP member, receives 2020 Alumni Recognition Award

Dr. Richard Schmid, a professor in Concordia's Department of Education and a longtime member of the CSLP, is this year’s recipient of the “Honorary Life Membership” Alumni Recognition Award. The award is granted to a non-graduate who has demonstrated a long-term commitment of outstanding service to Concordia.

Dr. Schmid is an educational psychologist whose research interests and expertise span computer-supported collaborative learning, instructional design, and technology integration in post-secondary education (to name a few). He has taught at Concordia since 1977, and has served as the chair of the Department of Education for nearly 20 combined years. Under Dr. Schmid’s leadership, the department earned a reputation as one of the top of its kind in Canada. The CSLP is equally indebted to Dr. Schmid, who previously served as Associate Director of the centre.
