Bureau of Noncompetitive Research at PHI Foundation opens on November 2

Thursday, November 2 at 5:30pm, will mark the opening of the Bureau of Noncompetitive Research at the PHI Foundation, which will also feature the exhibition Rirkrit Tiravanija's: JOUEZ/PLAY. Taking place in the PHI Foundation’s Education Room, the project will run from November 3, 2023, to March 10, 2024.

The Bureau of Noncompetitive Research will be using the space regularly as a workspace and it will also serve as a creative meeting place for the public, who will be invited to take part in a variety of events and workshops, including the creation of demotivational posters and a happy-hour artist talk.

The Bureau is a public engagement project by a collective of artists and researchers who explore how slow philosophy, dialogue, collaboration, pedagogy, and public space intersect.

Founded in 2021, it has taken on academic and artistic projects, namely Slowness and the Institution (2021), Pedagogy and Time (2022), and Giving Nothing (2023).

In this iteration, the Bureau comprises Victoria Stanton, José Cortés, and Stacey Cann, all three are doctoral students who actively work with members of the CSLP.

Le Bureau de la recherche non compétitive de la Fondation PHI ouvre ses portes le 2 novembre

Le jeudi 2 novembre à 17h30, le Bureau de la recherche non compétitive de la Fondation PHI ouvrira ses portes et présentera l'exposition Rirkrit Tiravanija's : JOUEZ/PLAY. Le projet se déroulera dans la salle d'éducation de la Fondation PHI du 3 novembre 2023 au 10 mars 2024.

Le Bureau de la recherche non compétitive utilisera régulièrement l'espace comme lieu de travail au cours des prochains mois. Il servira également de lieu de rencontre créatif pour le public, qui sera invité à participer à divers événements et ateliers, dont la création d'affiches démotivantes et une causerie d'artiste à l'heure de l'apéritif.

Le Bureau est un projet d'engagement public mené par un collectif d'artistes et de chercheurs/chercheuses qui explorent l'intersection de la philosophie lente, du dialogue, de la collaboration, de la pédagogie et de l'espace public.

Fondé en 2021, il a entrepris des projets académiques et artistiques, à savoir Slowness and the Institution (2021), Pedagogy and Time (2022) et Giving Nothing (2023).

Dans cette version, le Bureau est composé de Victoria Stanton, José Cortés et Stacey Cann, tous trois étudiant.es en doctorat qui travaillent activement avec des membres du CEAP.
