The CSLP is pleased to announce our latest joining member, Dr. Florent Michelot of Concordia University’s Department of Education.
Michelot’s research examines the integration of digital technology in higher education, focusing on developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, digital literacy, and media literacy. His work explores the adoption of educational technologies in e-learning contexts and investigates the environmental impacts of misinformation and online disinformation. Currently, Michelot is studying the role of artificial intelligence in academic settings, examining its influence on teaching practices and student engagement with digital information.
Michelot is an assistant professor of educational technology at Concordia University since 2024. Previously, he worked as a pedagogic advisor at the Université de Montréal and was a professor at the Université de Moncton, Shippagan campus (New Brunswick).
As a research associate at GRIIPTIC, he contributed to the preparatory work for the Quebec government's Digital Competency Framework. Michelot is also a member of the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technologies.
