Concordia’s Florent Michelot joins the CSLP as its latest member

Florent Michelot Florent Michelot has been an assistant professor of educational technology at Concordia University since 2024

The CSLP is pleased to announce our latest joining member, Dr. Florent Michelot of Concordia University’s Department of Education.

Michelot’s research examines the integration of digital technology in higher education, focusing on developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, digital literacy, and media literacy. His work explores the adoption of educational technologies in e-learning contexts and investigates the environmental impacts of misinformation and online disinformation. Currently, Michelot is studying the role of artificial intelligence in academic settings, examining its influence on teaching practices and student engagement with digital information. 

Michelot is an assistant professor of educational technology at Concordia University since 2024. Previously, he worked as a pedagogic advisor at the Université de Montréal and was a professor at the Université de Moncton, Shippagan campus (New Brunswick).

As a research associate at GRIIPTIC, he contributed to the preparatory work for the Quebec government's Digital Competency Framework. Michelot is also a member of the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technologies.

Florent Michelot devient le dernier membre du CEAP

Le CEAP est heureux d'annoncer l'arrivée de son dernier membre, le Dr Florent Michelot, du département d'éducation de l'Université Concordia.

Les recherches de Florent Michelot portent sur l'intégration de la technologie numérique dans l'enseignement supérieur, en mettant l'accent sur le développement des compétences du 21e siècle telles que la pensée critique, la littératie numérique et la littératie médiatique. Ses travaux portent sur l'adoption des technologies éducatives dans les contextes d'apprentissage en ligne et étudient les impacts environnementaux de la désinformation et de la désinformation en ligne. Actuellement, Michelot étudie le rôle de l'intelligence artificielle dans les milieux universitaires, en examinant son influence sur les pratiques d'enseignement et l'engagement des étudiants vis-à-vis de l'information numérique.

Michelot est professeur adjoint de technologie éducative à l'Université Concordia depuis 2024. Auparavant, il a travaillé comme conseiller pédagogique à l'Université de Montréal et a été professeur à l'Université de Moncton, campus de Shippagan (Nouveau-Brunswick).

En tant qu'associé de recherche au GRIIPTIC, il a contribué aux travaux préparatoires du Cadre de compétences numériques du gouvernement du Québec. Michelot est également membre de l'Observatoire international sur les impacts sociétaux de l'IA et des technologies numériques.
