Vivek Venkatesh, as Dean of McGill’s Faculty of Education, has organized a new Dean’s Speaker Series that will kick off on February 18-19 with a panel discussion and interactive workshop with Dr. Manu Kapur, author of Productive Failure: Unlocking Deeper Learning Through the Science of Failing.
On February 18, a panel discussion (Designing Learning Through Failure: A Conversation with Professor Manu Kapur) will be convened to discuss “core problems of learning, how productive failure offers a solution, and [to] delve into the principles of designing for failure.”
February 19, an interactive workshop (The Science of Learning Better by Failing) will be offered where Kapur will “examine the science behind productive failure, highlighting its four key mechanisms—activation, awareness, affect, and assembly—that make it a powerful teaching model.”
