A change in leadership at the Research Centre

July 1, 2020
|

On July 1st, James Grant takes over from Jochen Jaeger, joining Amy Poteete as Co-Director of the Loyola Sustainability Research Centre.

The Centre is grateful to Professor Jaeger (Geography, Planning and Environment) for all the hard work he has done in this position over the past year. Under the Co-Directorship of Professors Jaeger and Poteete (Political Science), the Centre developed a strong new governance structure, hosted numerous cross-disciplinary events, and provided support for Centre Members throughout the year. Professor Jaeger continues to bring his passion, dedication, and expertise to collaborative research, particularly in the areas of urban sprawl, landscape ecology, and road ecology. Thankfully, he has agreed to sit on the Administrative Board of the Centre for the coming year.

Professor James Grant (Biology) has been a Member of the Research Centre for almost a decade and has contributed extensively over the years. He has also served and continues to serve on numerous sustainability-oriented committees across the University, pushing for positive change within and outside of the University. In addition to his role as Co-Director of the Centre, Professor Grant will take on the Principalship of the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability, which currently hosts Concordia's only undergraduate programs in Sustainability.

As always, the strength of the Centre lies in the passion, dedication, and commitment of its Members, including Professors Jaeger and Grant. We are very lucky to have them.
