Introducing the 2022-23 John Lemieux Student Fellows

The Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies is pleased to announce that Élora Bussière-Ladouceur, Mowahib Hassan Doualeh, and Joshua Sallos-Carter have been named the John Lemieux Student Fellows for the 2022/2023 academic year. 

The program is designed for students at Concordia University who are committed to the promotion and protection of human rights, in particular in the fields of mass atrocity prevention, human security, peacebuilding and emerging technologies. It provides Fellows with the opportunity to learn about and deepen their understanding of human rights, strengthen skills in developing project proposals and organizing events, gain first-hand exposure to human rights mechanisms, and to meet with a wide-range of stakeholders in Montreal, Canada and internationally.

Élora Bussière-Ladouceur is Master’s student in Political Science at Concordia University. She will be working on digital authoritarianism.

Mowahib Hassan Doualeh is an undergraduate student in Honours in Political Science with a minor in human rights. She will be working on the Principles for Peace.

Joshua Sallos-Carter is mature undergraduate student majoring in Community Development, Public Affairs, and Policy Studies at Concordia’s School of Community and Public Affairs. He will be working on hate speech and technology.
