1. MONUSCO honors the recently deceased, Malumalu
State-owned media
(Agence Congolaise Presse, government-owned news agency, article dated 2 July 2016 in French) La MONUSCO rend hommage à l’Abbé Malumalu, «homme de courage et conviction»
- MONUSCO made tribute to recently deceased, Apollinaire Malu Malu, who passed away 30 June 2016.
- He played a major role in the 2006 elections and in the stabilization of areas of conflict.
2. North Kivu: FARDC attacked by APCLS and Nyatura in Masisi
Privately-owned media
(Radio-Okapi, independent/privately-owned newspaper, article dated 2 July 2016, in French) Nord-Kivu : plusieurs morts dans une attaque des positions des FARDC à Masisi
- Rebel groups APCLS and Nyatura, both attacked the FARDC in the region of Lukweti, Lwibo and Kinyumba in Masisi territory (North Kivu).
- There were several deaths in both camps, which include six soldiers and possibility of a Major.
3. Nine people killed by the ADF in Beni

- At least nine people were killed, by rebel group, ADF.
- The attack happened in the city of Oicha, 30 km from Beni.
4. Eight people kidnapped by poachers in Wamba

- Eight people were kidnapped the morning of July 7. The gunmen were identified as poachers in the Ongonga village territory of Wamba.
- Military has launched a pursuit on the attackers.
