- Maziar Malaki, a Baha’i citizen and student in the field of mechanical engineering, was expelled from Birjand University, Birjand, South Khorasan Province, on religious ground.

- Saber Sheikh Abdullah, a Kurdish citizen and student at Allameh Tabataba’i University in Tehran, was arrested by Intelligence officers in Mahabad, West Azerbaijan Province, on March 16, 2014.
- An informed source told HRANA that Abdullah was apprehended in the streets of Mahabad by plain-clothes intelligence officers one day after returning to Mahabad for the celebration of the Persian New Year holiday.
- Abdullah was taken to an unknown location and there is no information available about if fate or whereabouts.
Former MPs denounced President Rohani’s government (mis)handling of issues relating to religious and ethnic minorities

- Former MPs representing religious and ethnic minorities in Iran have criticized Hassan Rohani’s government for failing to deliver on its promise to grant more rights to minorities.
- Fars quoted an unnamed former MP as saying: “Before the election, Mr Rouhani secured the support and the vote of different ethnicities and minorities by issuing a ten-paragraph statement on the rights of minorities. But unfortunately, several months after the election, the government has failed to fulfill any of those promises and this has extremely damaged the reputation of Mr Rouhani among different ethnicities.”
