The Department of Philosophy is pleased to announce that Nicholas Duguay, graduating BA student with Honours in Philosophy with Great Distinction, is the 2021-22 recipient of the W.R. Fraser Philosophy Medal. The Medal is awarded to the most outstanding graduating student in the department.

Throughout his studies in philosophy, Nicholas has demonstrated an intellectual maturity beyond his years. In his first year in the program, he presented a paper at the Steven Humphrey Philosophy Colloquium at the University of Kentucky, and then went on to win numerous awards, including the national Brian Keenan Prize for best essay in the area of political philosophy, the Vladimir Zeman Award for best essay in philosophy of science, the Ada Israel Memorial Scholarship, held two Concordia Undergraduate Student Research Awards, was named a Concordia Top Scholar, appeared several times on the Dean’s List, worked as a philosophy tutor, volunteered with Concordia’s peer support Nightline, among other contributions and accolades.
