Philopolis: February 21 to 23, 2025

Philopolis is an annual three-day conference organized by philosophy students from Concordia, McGill, UQAM and l'UdeM whose central goal is to facilitate exchanges between the general public, students, professors and researchers in all areas of philosophy. It is the largest philosophy gathering in the region!

Students have co-organized Philopolis again this year and the following students in Concordia philosophy programs will present research papers:

Lily Dauriac: Apokatastasis and Free Will: Are these Notions in Tension in the Work of Origen of Alexandria?

Christopher Nicolson: A Theory of Contributive Justice

Daniel Pontoh: The Truth of Fictional Beings

Philopolis takes place February 21 to 23, 2025, at the University of Montreal, Pavillion Lionel-Groulx.

Keynote Speaker Sandrine Roux will present "L'héroïsme au féminin : l'éloge de la femme forte chez Gabrielle Suchon" on Saturday, February 22nd from noon to 1 p.m.

Keynote Speaker Zeyad El Nabolsy will present "James Africanus Beale Horton's Philosophy of History: Progress, Race, and the Fate of Africa" on Sunday, February 23rd from noon to 1 p.m.
