The SoPhiA Review is a philosophy undergraduate journal published annually by the Students of Philosophy Association at Concordia. It was conceptualized in the 2013-14 academic year as The Concordia Undergraduate Journal of Philosophy, and was first published in printed form in 2019. Recent journal publishing has sought to bring together literature, prose, and art of a philosophical nature.
We accept:
- Exegetical works
- Critical papers
- Cross-disciplinary papers
We also welcome, so long as philosophical content is substantial:
- Visual art
- Creative nonfiction
- Prose
- Poems
For instance, we would love work which helps us define, through a philosophical lens, what it means to be human, the human condition, or about anything philosophical in general. Existential, metaphysical, epistemological, ethical works, or anything philosophical is welcome!
This year we are putting together our very first inter-university edition, which aims to showcase undergraduate talent across the region. Alongside Concordia, we will be accepting submissions from McGill University, Université de Montréal, and Université du Quebec à Montréal.
Details:
• All philosophical topics are welcome!
• Submissions may be in either French or English.
• Maximum word count is 5000 words.
Have an interesting philosophical paper from a course? Submit it to us for our editors to review!
Deadline to submit is February 25th, 2025.
All submissions can be sent to thesophiareviewjournal at gmail dot com.
