Upcoming Public Lecture - Dr. Birgit Meyer - April 7, 2016

The Material Religion Initiative presents a public lecture by Dr. Birgit Meyer (Religious Studies, Utrecht University) entitled: "Images, Image Wars, and the Study of Religion". The lecture will take place on Thursday April 7, 2016 at 5:30pm (1455 de Maisonneuve Blvd West, room 767).

Birgit Meyer is one of Europe's leading anthropologists of religion and the author of numerous ground-breaking works on religion, material and visual culture, including, most recently, Sensational Movies: Video, Vision and Christianity in Ghana (University of California Press 2015).
