Evening in Honor of Dr. Richard Foltz

Iran's most prestigious literary journal, Bukhara, recently organized an evening in honour of Professor Richard Foltz's contributions to the field of Iranian Studies at the House of Scholars in Tehran. Among the event's speakers were Professor Mahmoud Jafari-Dehaghi of Tehran University, Professor Carlo Cereti of Rome's Sapienza University, Dr. Mehrdad Malekzadeh of the Iranian Centre for Archaeological Research, Bukhara editor Ali Dehbashi, Professor Mohammad Estelami of McGill University, and Askari Pasha'i, translator of Foltz's recent book Iran in World History, the Persian edition of which sold out in its first month and has now entered its second printing. While in Tehran Professor Foltz attended two launches for his new book, and delivered a public lecture in Persian on the pre-Islamic religion of the Kurds at the Centre for the Great Islamic Encyclopedia.
