Economic Aspects of the Islamization of the Silk Road

Richard Foltz will deliver an invited lecture, entitled "Economic Aspects of the Islamization of the Silk Road," at the University of Central Asia's Bishkek branch in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday, 18 May 2017.

The following day he will deliver another lecture, "The Silk Road: Conduits for Culture" at UCA's campus in Naryn. UCA is an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation to bring modern, English-medium education to rural areas of Central Asia and has been undertaken with the support of several Canadian universities. Foltz is currently in Central Asia researching a book on the History of the Tajiks.
