Meet the Social Justice Graduate Fellows 2022-2023
The Social Justice Centre at Concordia University offers graduate student fellowships.
For the academic year 2022-23, we have awarded 4 bursaries to graduate students. You can see their profiles on our website.
Each fellow will present their work at the Social Justice Graduate Fellows Lunchtime Seminars:
Thursday February 2, 12-2pm:
Stephanie Eccles (PhD Candidate, Department of Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies): "Making Animal Waste Essential: ‘Renewing’ Animal Agriculture through the Fraught Politics of Renewable Natural Gas Development"
Thursday March 9, 12-2 pm:
Abagna Gideon Azunre (PhD Candidate, Department of Geography, Urban and Environmental Studies): "The politics of multi-stakeholder participation and inclusion in informal contexts: Lessons from a Participatory Slum Upgrading Program (PSUP) in Ghana"
Thursday April 6, 12-2 pm:
Ra’anaa Yaminah (PhD Candidate, Art History): "Futurities With(out) the Institution: The Emergence of Black Art and Activism in N’Swakamok"
Thursday April 20, 12-2 pm:
Dean Joseph (MA student, Philosophy Department): "Maximizing Feasibility: Dynamic Normativity, Neutral Agency, and Ideology"
The talks will be followed by a commentary by a faculty member or a community member.
