Appointment of Rachida Dssouli as director of CIISE

Dean Robin Drew has announced the appointment of Rachida Dssouli as the new director of the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE) and recognized the contributions of outgoing director Mourad Debbabi.

This is Dean Drew's message to everyone in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science:

I am pleased to announce that on June 1, 2013 Dr. Rachida Dssouli began a three year term as the new Director of the Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering.  Dr. Dssouli brings with her a myriad of knowledge and proven administrative experience.  As the Institute's first Director, her commitment to the unit was instrumental to CIISE's great initial success and its continued growth.  I wish her well as she resumes her role as Director after a six year break.
 
At this time, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Mourad Debbabi for his many contributions to the Institute over the past six years in which the faculty complement and research of the unit experienced notable growth. He leaves the unit in excellent shape and I ask you to join me in wishing him well as he embarks on a well-earned sabbatical leave.
