Title: Holistic Software Evolution
Date: Thursday, April 14th, 2016
Time: 13.45 - 15.30
Place: EV 11.119
ABSTRACT
In this talk I will present 15+ years of the research I have had the pleasure to do in the domains of software evolution research, program comprehension, software visualization, recommender systems, and some other collateral topics. The ultimate goal is to go towards the conception of the evolution of software as a holistic process.
BIO
I am full professor at the faculty of informatics of the University of Lugano, where I founded the REVEAL research group in 2004. I co-authored over 150 journal and conference publications and the book Object-Oriented Metrics in Practice.
My activitites span various international software engineering research communities. I have served on the program committees of ICSE, FSE, ICSME, ICPC, MSR and many other conferences, and as program co-chair of SANER 2016, ICSM 2010, VISSOFT 2009, MSR 2008, IWPSE 2007, and MSR 2007.
I was several time keynote speaker. I am board member of CHOOSE (Swiss Group for Object-Oriented Systems and Environments), and vice-president of the Moose association. I am steering committee member of the ERCIM working group on software evolution.
I was born in Italy, and later moved to Switzerland. I studied at the University of Bern, completing my MSc in 1999 and earning my PhD in 2003. Before starting to Lugano I was also postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich.
