Dr. A. Awasthi: Traffic Optimization

Dr. Anjali Awasthi was recently interviewed for an article in Le Devoir and spoke about ways to improve traffic in cities. The immediate solution, she argues, is "to better link transportation services. You cannot consider going on a 50-kilometer trip with only one means of transportation", she says. "It's a mix of solutions that must be considered to improve traffic in the city. There is no single solution." 

Dr. Awasthi advocates that citizens create a "cocktail" of transportation, which can combine walking, cycling, bus, metro and car, autonomous or not.  This is the future of our smart cities.
