Abstract
The ability to perform host analysis is essential to any competent information security professional. Due to the advancements in tools and extensive research on the topic, many tasks that would typically require in-depth forensics analysis can now be completed in a few hours using triage data collected from hosts. In this talk we take the first steps in performing host analysis using freely available tools, and demonstrate how such data can be used in analyzing security incidents and determining the root cause of the incident.
