Conversations in Contemporary Art presents Barry Doupé
We are proud to collaborate with the FIFA (Festival Internation of Films on Art) to welcome internationally acclaimed animator Barry Doupé to the stage for the sixth and final talk in the Conversations in Contemporary Art 2013-2014 winter season.

Barry Doupé biography
Barry Doupé (b. 1982, Victoria, B.C.) is a Vancouver based artist working primarily with computer animation. He graduated from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in 2004 with a Bachelor of Media Arts majoring in Animation. His films use imagery and language derived from the subconscious; developed through writing exercises and automatic drawing. His films have been screened throughout Canada and Internationally including the MOCCA (Toronto, ON), Whitechapel Gallery (London, UK), Centre Pompidou (Paris, France) and the Tate Modern (London, UK).
Biographie de Barry Doupé
Né à Victoria (C.-B.) en 1982 et établi à Vancouver, Barry Doupé est un artiste spécialisé dans l'animation informatique. En 2004, il a obtenu un baccalauréat en arts médiatiques avec majeure en animation de l'Université d'art et de design Emily-Carr. Dans ses films, il exploite une imagerie et un langage dérivés du subconscient, développés au moyen d'exercices d'écriture et de dessin automatique. Ses œuvres cinématographiques ont été présentées un peu partout au Canada et à l'étranger, notamment au Musée d'art contemporain canadien de Toronto, en Ontario, à la Whitechapel Gallery et au musée Tate Modern de Londres, au Royaume-Uni, ainsi qu'au Centre Pompidou de Paris, en France.

Admission for all Conversations in Contemporary Art events is FREE and open to the general public.
Seating is first come, first serve. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The lectures will be held in English.
