Concordia’s Centre for Creative Reuse (CUCCR) has launched the Fine Arts CUCCR Satellite, a new initiative developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Fine Arts. The pilot project expands the centre’s mission to divert materials from Concordia's waste stream and offer them for free to the community.

The Satellite is located in the Assembly Room (EV8.455), an open workspace on the 8th floor of the Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex (EV Building). The room is also equipped with basic tools and space for temporary project storage.

While the CUCCR’s main Used Material Depot remains at 1200 Guy Street (Grey Nuns Building), the Satellite offers resources directly to Fine Arts students, staff and faculty. The goal is to raise awareness about sustainability in the arts and encourage thoughtful material choices and project planning.

Fresh options for creative projects

The Fine Arts Satellite serves as a valuable resource for students sourcing supplies for their creative work. Available items include wood, fabric, paper, hardware and others, with a rotating selection to keep options fresh.

Everything is offered at no cost, but users will be required to weigh and check out their materials to help track usage and waste diversion metrics.

The community is encouraged to suggest additional materials. Feedback is welcomed in person via the Satellite’s suggestion board or at the Core Technical Centre (CTC) info desk, also on the 8th floor of the EV building.

The CUCCR Fine Arts Satellite is located in the Assembly Room (EV 8.455). Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After-hours access is available by application.
