Art Education Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Art Education URS is an undergraduate student initiative that aims to foster the sharing and discovery of undergraduate research and discussion at Concordia University. The Art Ed URS is being presented in tandem with the Art Education Graduate Symposium "The Art of Transforming Communities", taking place February 28 to March 2, 2014.
The keynote speaker for the URS will be community activist, artist and Concordia University professor Janis Timm-Bottos, presenting an address entitled "Dream Big and Start Small: Conversation and art making about first steps in starting your own Community Art Studio practice".
Timm-Bottos is the founder and director of La Ruche d'Art: Community Studio and Science Shop, in St-Henri, Montreal. Janis Timm-Bottos has been creating free neighborhood art spaces for over twenty years and has organized over 65 community art exhibitions.
The Art Education URS would like to invite undergraduates to participate through the dissemination of research proposals and a roundtable discussion. Undergraduates who would like to participate are encouraged to visit the Art Education URS website at: www.artedurs.com
