Join Heather Davis, Concordia alumna (PhD in Communications Studies, 2011), for the launch of her edited collection Desire Change: Contemporary Feminist Art in Canada.
Desire Change features 14 essays that focus on regional histories, activist art, community engagement, Indigenous feminisms and the political role of the female body. The 328-page, hardcover, full-colour volume celebrates art by feminists in our nation. It is the first book about feminist art, in all media, ever published in Canada.
Contributors include Concordia Art History faculty members Dr. Janice Anderson, Dr. Kristina Huneault, and Dr. Alice Ming Wai Jim.
The launch will take place on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 between 3:00-5:00pm at the SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art, 372 rue Ste-Catherine West, Montreal, QC.
