Concordia in California!

Dr. Jordan Gowanlock, a recent graduate of our PHD in Film and Moving Image Studies, is thriving as a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar, supported by SSHRC, at the University of California, Berkeley. His project entitled “Engineering Special Effects” investigates the ways in which engineering --its tools, research and experiments--have shaped the look of film, animation and contemporary games.  Selections of this research will soon be published as "Promoting Computer Graphics Research: The tech demos of SIGGRAPH" in Animation and Advertising, eds. Malcolm Cook and Kirsten Thompson, due out November 2019 from Palgrave Macmillan. His post-doc continues until August 2020. Congratulations Jordan!
