Dr. Josée Leclerc presents at a major psychoanalysis conference in Paris

Art Therapy professor Josée Leclerc presented at a major psychoanalysis conference held in Paris on March 3-4, 2017.  Entitled “Psychoanalysis in institution: Which transference?”, the conference brought together professors-clinicians from universities in Paris and in Montréal as well as analysts working in 4 Parisian centres which offer free psychoanalytic services, including to university students.  Established in the 1950’s to attend to the needs of persons in the aftermath of World War II, psychoanalysts working in these centres have developed a rich expertise and a deep theorization pertaining to the frame within which these services are offered, including psychodrama.  Dissemination endeavors of this French-Québec research team include future publications following both the March 17 Paris Conference and the Québec Conference held in November 2016.

Josée Leclerc, professeur et directrice du programme d’art-thérapie, a donné une communication lors d’un important colloque en psychanalyse qui s’est tenu à Paris les 3 et 4 mars dernier.  Intitulé « La psychanalyse en institution : quels transferts », le colloque a réuni des professeurs-cliniciens de différentes universités à Paris et à Montréal ainsi que des analystes œuvrant dans quatre centres parisiens qui offrent des services de psychanalyse gratuits—dont à des étudiants universitaires.  Mis sur pied dans les années 50 afin de venir en aide à la population ayant subi les traumatismes de la 2^e guerre mondiale, les analystes qui travaillent dans ces centres ont acquis une solide expertise et développé des théorisations profondes relatives au cadre d’intervention et aux aménagements du cadre, dont le psychodrame analytique.  Les projets de dissémination de cette équipe de recherche franco-québécoise prendront entre autres la forme de publications suite au colloque de Paris de mars 2017 et à celui de Montréal qui s’est tenu en novembre dernier.
