New Summer 2018 Graduate Course – Introduction to Play Therapy
CATS 631/1/GE – Introduction to Play Therapy (3 credits)
Dates: July 3-9, 2018

This course will be an introduction to play therapy and will focus on child-centered play therapy. There will be an experiential component to every class and a role-play practicing play therapy techniques. In this course, students will examine the humanistic and psychodynamic model and the historical origins of play therapy. The core systems of the humanistic and psychodynamic model and non-directive play therapy approaches will be covered.
Bonnie Harnden, MA, RDT, Associate Professor
Prof. Harnden is a trained drama therapist, psychoanalyst and psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience in clinical practice, research, and training. She specializes in trauma, and family therapy.
