Congratulations to alumna Dana Michel (BFA Contemporary Dance, 2006), who won the ImpulsTanz award at this year's Vienna Dance Festival.
In the world of dance, receiving recognition from a European jury is deemed especially prestigious. Since 2008 such awards have been given to preeminent works of contemporary dance. In Vienna on August 17 during the closing ceremony of the ImPulsTanz Festival, something exceptional occurred. The director and co-founder of the Austrian festival, Karl Regensburger, "spontaneously created an award" for Yellow Towel, the solo by Montreal choreographer Dana Michel (presented at Festival TransAmériques in 2013)!"
