This guide is a good place to start if you are new to video recording. It explains the essential features of determing exposure for video using a cheap DSLR camera (the Canon Rebel). Although the guide also has information specific to the Canon Rebel models, the exposure information is applicable to any video camera or any still camera with a video recording option. The other CDA camera guides assume that you already have some basic knowledge of video exposure. This guide includes a section on recording audio with a Rode microphone attached to the camera or with an external Zoom recorder. It also explains how to slate if you are recording audio to an external recorder. Although the image quality of the Canon Rebel cameras is the worst of any of the video recording options in the EV Depot, these cameras are useful for learning the basics.
