Kristina Huneault is currently working on a comparative study of ideas about nature as they are embodied in Salish basketry and the late paintings of Emily Carr.  She recently presented aspects of this material at the University's of British Columbia's Beyond the Culture of Nature Conference (Sept 28 - 30).  Related coming events include a panel on cross-cultural aspects of art history beyond the subject (Universities Art Association of Canada Conference, Montreal 1-3 November), a paper at the 3rd Feminist Art History Conference in Washington DC (Nov. 9-11) and the women's studies annual lecture at the University of Alberta's (28 March 2013).
