"EAHR - Speaker Series" - Cultural Convergences I: Testify

The Ethnocultural Art Histories Research Group (EAHR) is pleased to present its inaugural conference Cultural Convergences I: Testify, with keynote speaker, curator and scholar Dr. Andrea Fatona, Assistant Professor, Criticism and Curatorial Program, OCAD University, Toronto.

The theme, Testify, inaugurates EAHR's new annual conference series, Cultural Convergences. To testify is to attest, demonstrate, bear witness, affirm, and profess. This conference aims to provide a platform for dialogue and debate about the representation of art and artists from Canada's diverse ethnocultural communities.

Conference keynote speaker, Dr. Andrea Fatona was Curator of Contemporary Art at the Ottawa Art Gallery and is a regular contributing editor to Fuse magazine and Assistant Professor at OCADU. She will present a keynote lecture entitled "Claiming Space: Displacing the Centre" at 5:30pm. Panel speakers include Gada Mahrouse, Cheryl Thompson, Chantale Potie, Lori Beavis, Katerina Korola, Erika Coutu, Erandy Vergara-Vergas, Chen Chih-En and Sorouja Moll.
