Art Canada Institute has launched the first in a series of online art books, Jack Chambers: Life and Work by University of Toronto professor Mark Cheetham. Three more monographs by JI members are in the pipeline: Michael Snow by Martha Langford (Feb. 2014); Paul-Émile Borduas by François-Marc Gagnon (May 2014); and Joyce Wieland by Johanne Sloan (Oct. 2014).

ACI online art books are aimed at broadening the audience for Canadian art. Lavishly illustrated, they are available in both English and French versions for reading and downloading free of charge at the Art Canada Institute's website.

Founded in 2012, the Art Canada Institute is a non-profit research organization based at Massey College, University of Toronto. The ACI works with more than 50 of Canada's leading art historians, curators, and visual culture experts who are dedicated to the creation of authoritative original content on the people, themes, and topics that have defined Canadian art history.

JI members are key contributors to this important project as authors and as members of the Advisory Council (Langford) and the Editorial Board (Anne Whitelaw; Langford).
