JMSB Participates in JDC Central
Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business (JMSB) participated in the Jeux du Commerce Central (JDCC) for the first time this year. The annual competition includes universities from Ontario as well visiting schools from Eastern Canada. This year, the event was hosted by Dalhousie University. The visiting universities from Quebec were Concordia and McGill.
JMSB’s approach to first-time participation was to send a “half-delegation” to the games. The school fielded teams in marketing, entrepreneurship, international business and strategy. Participation in this event allowed twelve new students to join the John Molson Case Competition program. Accompanying the teams were an additional seven students attending as ambassadors and volunteers.
In addition to JMSB’s winning gold and bronze in two academic categories, the delegation’s passion and enthusiasm earned them the top prizes for participation and sportsmanship. The competition’s Volunteer of the Year award went to JMSB’s Andrew Lorant.
Cumulatively, these honours added up to JMSB winning overall gold in the half-delegation category.
