JMSB marketing professor wins the 2014 Darwinism Applied Award

Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society bestows its award upon Gad Saad

Gad Saad, a professor in the Department of Marketing at the John Molson School of Business, and holder of the Concordia University Research Chair in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences and Darwinian Consumption, is the recipient of the 2014 Darwinism Applied Award which is conferred by the Applied Evolutionary Psychology Society (AEPS).

Saad is the fourth recipient of the award.  The three prior recipients were David Sloan Wilson, S. Craig Roberts and Randolph Nesse – all highly-respected leaders in their field.

“Dr. Saad has been instrumental in popularizing the applied use of evolutionary psychology through academic papers, books, blogs, podcasts, and television and radio appearances,” reads the announcement on the AEPS web site. “Please join us in congratulating Dr. Saad.”

Saad’s areas of expertise include advertising, consumer behavior, evolutionary psychology and psychology of decision-making.
