'Knowledge, insight and enthusiasm'
After eight years of service, Trevor Hagyard will be completing his mandate as director of the Graduate Diploma in Chartered Professional Accountancy, announced Interim Dean Stéphane Brutus.
“I would like to thank Trevor for his excellent work through the years,” says Brutus. “Under his leadership our CA, and now CPA, program has been considered one of the best in the country. Trevor oversaw the successful transition of the program when Canada’s three accounting designations were merged under the CPA banner. Enrolment in the new program is robust and remains the top choice of JMSB graduates.”
Eva Lagou has been named as the program’s new director. “Her knowledge, insight and enthusiasm will contribute to the program’s continued success. I would ask you to join me in welcoming her into her new role,” adds Brutus.
Lagou has been with the Department of Accountancy since 2009, initially as a part-time lecturer, then an LTA and now, an ETA. She brings over 25 years of industry experience to her new role, many spent at consulting firms executing and managing business improvements and IT projects. Since 2012, she has been a member of the Management and Management Accounting Monitoring Committee of the CPA Order’s Board of Directors.
